Whitefish: creative case study.
We produced a cinematic commercial and teaser campaign for Whitefish Cigars, featuring a photorealistic character animation of a smoking fish captain on a stormy sea vessel.
Creative approach
Whitefish Cigars requested a bold, memorable character-focused commercial that breaks away from generic luxury branding. We brought the 'Captain Whitefish' character to life—a rugged, cigar-smoking fish captain navigating a ship through a fierce sea storm.
The production combined detailed character modeling and rigging, fabric simulations for the captain's hat, and complex ocean fluid dynamics. By synchronizing the click of a gold Zippo lighter with the rumble of thunder and wave splashes, we created an intense, expensive cinematic experience.
